So, first of all, why the name Ki Life Coaching?
Ki (pronounced 'key') - also known as Qi, chi or prana - means life force energy.
You may have come across these terms before in Feng Shui, Reiki healing, Chi Gong, yoga or tai chi. These are all methods of cleansing and healing your personal (or your home's) energy field. I believe that a healthy, vibrant and balanced flow of Ki within the body is the 'Ki' to a happy, abundant and fulfilling life - it is therefore the primary aim of my coaching process. I intuitively pick up on people's energy vibrations and very much incorporate that into what I do.
Ki [pronounced 'key'] = life force energy
How did you get into life coaching?
After I completed my psychology degree I felt the need to go back to my holistic roots rather than becoming a psychologist as I felt the science was very single-minded in its view of people and their issues. I knew I still wanted psychology to feature in my career in some way, I just did not know how I would combine the two.
I took an office job after Uni, studied Reiki Healing I and II & then one day I heard about this thing called Life Coaching on television and something inside me just clicked as I realised that that was what I had done my whole life! (just ask my friends and family!)
None of the UK training companies appealed to my need to encorporate Mind, Body and Spirit, and so I chose to study with Ann Hartley of Hart Life Coaching in Australia, taking her advanced training program which consisted of phone sessions, coursework, recordings, teleclasses, & hours of practice coaching, before finally gaining my Diploma in Life Coaching in 2005.

I continue to grow and learn, and I frequently study, take additional training courses, and attend workshops. As well as my Psychology Degree, Life Coaching Diploma, and Reiki I and II certificates, I now hold a Diploma in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) from Auspicium which I found to be an incredibly valuable addition to my coaching repertoire. With over 20 years of experience in personal development, spiritual growth, life coaching and healing, I am still as (annoyingly!) enthusiastic as ever about sharing these undervalued gems of wisdom (or 'Ki's' as I call them) with anyone who'll listen!
The Ki Life Coaching Process:
I have now combined my life coach training with NLP techniques (neuro-linguistic programming), Law Of Attraction principles, and my own intuitive energy work which focuses on the need for balance in your body's energy (chi or Ki), to create my unique 6 stage Ki Life Coaching Process which has become so invaluable to both myself and my clients.
The result is a process that goes straight to the root of any issue so that rather than tackle one problem or goal at a time – which inevitably leads to another and then another– we work together through the Ki Life Coaching process instead, to essentially reboot your system to its natural state of balance. This involves various techniques which help you to become more conscious about what you think, believe, and do in your life so that you are not simply on auto-pilot, or acting out of habit.
By living a conscious life (i.e. by consciously choosing your beliefs, values, words and actions) you feel a lot less stressed and out of control. You feel happier, more peaceful, contented and effective, plus you conquer any limiting beliefs you may have held about yourself and the world around you, which in turn opens up a whole new world of possibilities for you.
Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action

When asked about her workshops:
"Ah, well these can particularly help you with that feeling you cannot quite put your finger on - that maybe something is missing or not quite right in your life. They suit anyone feeling powerless, unmotivated, ineffective, listless or even bored. Also those who might be feeling blocked creatively. They give you the jump-start you need to get things moving in the right direction, whilst having a heap of fun in the process!
You feel hugely supported during the day itself and in addition to that, attendees quite often exchange contact details and become a great support system for one another after 'returning to their lives' taking what they've learnt on the day with them.
Some people who don't live close enough to me to have face-to-face coaching with me on a regular basis, choose to attend a workshop in order to jump start their coaching process; continuing afterwards with either telephone or Skype coaching or one of my online programmes.
Conversely, sometimes my 1:1 clients come along to a workshop for the connection with others, and the energetic boost that the workshop environment provides. Clients find it wonderful to know that they are not the only person on the planet being coached! They support one another tremendously during the day. The energetic and emotional shifts that happen during the workshops is simply magical to witness and to be a part of."
